David Shortall

David graduated from the National Botanic Gardens in 1996 and went on to teach horticulture and landscaping at NTDI Stillorgan, Co Dublin until 2004. During this time, he completed a broad range of projects, while also exhibiting at the Garden Heaven Show winning silver, gold & ‘best executed garden’ awards consecutively.

In 2000 David set up his company Landscape Discovery, which operates as a partnership specialising in garden/landscape design & consultancy. The client base is primarily residential, with a growing number of commercial and public projects including Blanchardstown Hospital, The Central Mental Hospital, St. Kevin’s Parish, Glendalough, and The Ideal Homes Exhibition.

David sees the garden as an essential part of the home, capable of facilitating a range of plant life, materials and textures, that when fused with the elements, under the framework of a sympathetic design, can create a wholly different lifestyle experience.
